Beginning Quilt Making


Spend a weekend learning beginning quiltmaking skills. You will make a small quilt as your class project. Gail Abeloe will teach you fast rotary cutting and easy piecing techniques on Saturday. Then you will return on Sunday to machine quilt and bind your project.

One Block Wonder


One great fabric + one block = one stunning quilt. Sharon Winter will show you how to turn this intriguing idea into a stunning quilt. You make half-hexagon blocks and then design a stunning quilt. Easy cutting and sewing, no set-in seams.

Learn Maggie Wenzel easy needle-turn way to hand applique. You will practice sewing points, curves, bias stems and circles as you hand applique a Heart and Flowers block from Alex Anderson’s new book. Applique is a great take-along handwork project.

Learn the easy way to sew a Bargello quilt. Sharon Winter will show you the fun way to make a beautiful Bargello Landscape project. Let your fabric do the work! Once you’ve tried the Instant Bargello technique, you will look at fabric a whole new way.

Open a Can of Worms


Discover how to sew 2½" strips into fabulous quilts. Gail Abeloe will help you make one of three choices in this fun workshop. You choose: Four-Patch and Friends, Buzz Saw or Braid quilt. This is the book by Debbie Caffery that Gail demonstrated at the MPQG Quilt Show and Shop Hop in June.

Silk Ribbon Embroidery


Learn techniques to create beautiful silk ribbon embroidery. Join Maggie Wenzel’s and learn how to stitch with ribbon. Practice making stitches and then work on your class project, Iris from Ann Cox’s Handbook of Silk ribbon Embroidery. You’ll want to try stitching all the ideas in this well illustrated book.

Curved Landscape Circles


Have fun with Jean Dunn. Learn gentle curved piecing as you sew landscape strips. Then cut large circles and applique them to background blocks. Stunning and easy! This class is from a fabulous design in Valori Wells’ Simple Start, Stunning Finish book.

More Machine Quilting


Improve your machine quilting skills in this workshop with Sharon Winter. You know how to use a walking-foot and a darning foot, now learn a variety of intermediate machine quilting techniques as you stitch a whole-cloth banner. Sharon will demonstrate some of her professional machine skills.

Houses - Under Construction


No blueprints are needed to make these houses. Using a no-rules, play with your fabric approach, Karen Flamme will show you how to piece and fuse free-form, whimsical houses. We’ll emphasize the individuality of each house through fabric choices, shapes and level of detail, and then look for places to add fused and dimensional embellishments.

Turn Fat Quarters into a great Log Cabin quilt. Let Sharon Winter show you the fast way to assembly-line piece this all-time favorite design. Cut strips before class. Spend class time sewing blocks for any size quilt.
