Back Porch Press was founded in 1989 when Gail Abeloe designed and published the Heart Warming Jacket pattern. This pattern showed quilters how to make an attractive jacket that looks like it was made from an old quilt. This pattern was an instant success and is probably the best selling quilted-clothing pattern of all time. This pattern has been revised and improved through the years and is still selling well. A line of other quilted-clothing patterns followed until today there are 37 patterns including 4 new easy, fat-quarter quilt patterns. Just click on the links on the left to see the patterns. We are located in Pacific Grove, California, and in 1997 we opened a quilt store, Back Porch Fabrics. The pattern business is located in the back of the store. Our store has models of most patterns and sizing samples to try on so you will know what size to make. Back Porch Press patterns are the best Our patterns feature good designs, and the instructions actually work. The patterns fit real people and the instructions contain lots of detail and illustrations. Our patterns have been thoroughly checked to eliminate errors before we sell them. If you have been frustrated by other patterns that just don't work or are hard to understand, you will love Back Porch Press patterns.
